Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros formed in 2007 after singer Alex Ebert met fellow singer Jade Castrinos outside of Little Pedro’s in downtown Los Angeles. In 2009 the 10-member troupe released their debut album, Up From Below, to great reviews from Uncut, NME and Drowned in Sound, among others. Alex’s critically acclaimed solo album - named simply Alexander - follow in 2011, before Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros reconvened for their second album Here, which debuted at #5 on Billboard Top 200 Chart upon its release in May 2012. In between the band has travelled the globe winning friends and fans on the live circuit

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros are the first band to be signed to Mumford & Sons’ Gentlemen of the Road, and the album will be the label’s first release by a band other than Mumford & Sons. The two bands forged an unbreakable bond across many cumulative weeks spent on the road (and rails) together, including the six-city run of shows that comprised the inaugural Railroad Revival Tour in 2011, immortalised in Emmett Malloy’s award-winning film Big Easy Express. Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros supported Mumford & Sons on a number of dates worldwide in 2013, including their Irish show in Phoenix Park, Dublin on 14th July.

Mixing soulfulness, raw exuberant pop and psychedelia, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros shows a band constantly evolving and hopeful for the future. Produced by frontman Alex Elbert, its twelve tracks are upbeat, boisterous and passionate, with gospel harmonies, raw vocals, and deep-in-the-pocket rhythms.
