Scottish born soul, RnB recording artist and songwriter Emeli Sandé confirms a date in The Olympia Theatre on Wednesday 15th August 2012. Tickets priced from €25.40 went on sale via Tickemtaster on Friday 16th March at 9am and sold out very quickly!

Emeli Sandé is wonderfully talented, intelligent and an utterly transfixing performer. Her words and melodies are raw, emotional and completely unforgettable. She is the epitome of a brilliant modern artist who brings a fresh honest approach to her music.

Sandé became known after she featured on rapper Chipmunk's 3rd single which gained both artists a first top 10 single on UK singles chart. The talented singer songwriter has also written compositions for some of the greatest names in modern pop including Tinie Tempah, Professor Green, Tinchy Stryder, Cheryl Cole, Susan Boyle, The Saturdays and Wiley.

2012 is already proving to be an incredible year for Emeli Sandé. Confirmed as the winner of the prestigious Brits Critic's Choice Award, the Aberdonian singer -songwriter released the stunning single, 'Next To Me', from her hugely anticipated debut album 'Our Version of Events' on February 10th. It is currently riding high on top of the Irish charts.

As well as winning the Brits Critic Choice Award 2012 Emeli has also been nominated in the Best Breakthrough Act category, a first in the Awards history.

"Our Version Of Events" is warm, wise, frank, funny, thoughtful and as inimitable as Emeli's vertical shock of blond hair and the Frida Kahlo tattoo that takes up most of her right arm. Reflecting the fears, thoughts, heartbreak and hopes of a young women, the record effortlessly appeals to anyone with a love of imagery, imagination and, ultimately, bloody great songs. The album is written entirely by Emeli and produced by her creative partner Shahid 'Naughty Boy' Khan.

Like many classic debut albums before it, Sandé's debut is a moment in musical time. Credible without attempting to be too 'cool', heartbroken yet crazy in love, it is considered without trying to be too clever. This is a distinctly British record with undeniable global appeal, created by one of the most exciting debut artists we have seen in recent years.

Emeli recently supported Coldplay across Europe and heads out across the UK on her second headline tour throughout April 2012 before returning to Ireland this August.

'Emeli has made an album that deserves to linger in the limelight - passionate, powerful and possessed of real star quality'
