Lead dancer and choreographer Alan Kenefick, has created a mind blowing visual extravaganza, where the drama and passion of dance illustrates an impossible tender love story. Playing the male romantic lead opposite real life partner Ciara McGillan; Kenefick and the other five original troupe members - Andy O Reilly, Darren Casey, Dane McKiernana, Christiana Havlin and Bobby Hodges are joined by eleven new cast members, who shatter the boundaries of Irish dance and transport audiences to a World governed by the thunder of their steps.
Working alongside Alan Kenefick is Kim Gavin, widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading Creative Directors. Kim has been the creative vision behind some of the most innovative and inspirational performances in the world of music and live events, including the London Olympics and Paralympics Closing Ceremonies in 2012.
Alan Kenefick says “We are thrilled by the enthusiastic response from audiences who have bought tickets for the show. We’ve put a massive amount of effort into creating new innovative dance moves, an engaging plot and especially commissioned music. We have worked so hard to create a mind-blowing show. We know to succeed we need to keep evolving and pushing our performance as far as we can.”
The show is co-scored by classical Brit winning producer Rupert Christie, who was responsible for the music of blockbuster movies such as Mamma Mia and X Men. His portfolio of live bands include U2, Greenday Coldplay and Kate Bush.
From their inspirational Got To Dance 2012 audition to the moment they won the hit Sky series in front of 1.9 million people, PRODIJIG's contemporary performance style has captivated Ireland and the UK and established the group as innovators of modern Irish dance.
Created by PRODIJIG leader and choreographer Alan Kenefick, the show will inherit the group's powerful and unique style, and hopes to help bring Irish Dance into a new and exciting era. Alan is often referred to as one of the best Irish dancers of his generation, and he and all the members of Prodijig - Ciara McGillan, Andy O Reilly, Darren Casey, Dane McKiernan and Christina Havlin - will play leading roles within the new show.
Between the group they have won every Irish dancing competition, including North American, Great British, All Ireland and World championships.
