The organisers, having held previous, ‘A Night for….’ concerts, are hoping that the first ‘A Night for Aware’ concert raises the profile of mental health issues in Ireland and raises much needed funds. With a host of great Irish artists coming together in support it is sure to be a great night.

Founded in 1985, Aware is the national organisation providing support, education and information to those impacted by depression, bipolar disorder and related mood conditions. Aware offers a number of Support Services for individuals and their loved ones to include 35 Support & Self Care Groups nationwide, a Freephone Support Line (1800 80 48 48) and a Support Mail service. Aware also delivers education programmes nationwide to empower adults and young people with the knowledge and skills to look after their mental health and build resilience to deal with the stresses of everyday life.

Commenting at today’s launch, Gerry O’Brien, Head of Fundraising and Business Development with Aware, said; “We are delighted to have been chosen as charity partner for this year’s ‘A Night for…’. With one in ten experiencing depression in Ireland, we all know someone who has been impacted - whether directly ourselves, a family member, a friend or a colleague. Events like this raise vital funds that allow us to provide our support and education services completely free of charge, services that make a real difference in people’s lives. We are very grateful to Cadbury, the concert organizers and the artists who are generously donating their time and talents to support Aware and significantly, bring awareness to the important topic of mental health.”

Paul Byrne, co-organiser, commented; “This is the fourth ‘A Night For’ concert I have helped organize and they just get better each year. We bring together bands from the 80s, 90s, 00s and present so there’s something to suit everybody’s musical taste. It’s gives the audience a great snapshot of the Irish music scene past and present. A night not to be missed for music lovers in aid of a great cause.”

Eugene Connolly, co-organiser, also commented “‘A Night For...’ has become a firm fixture in the Dublin gig goer’s calendar and this year’s line up has been carefully curated to reflect both our more established acts and some exciting upcoming talent.  We have been very lucky this year to have Cadburys on board as our sponsor which allows for every penny of ticket sales to go directly to aiding the very important services that Aware provide in the area of positive mental health.”

Speaking about Cadbury’s support of Aware, Eoin Kellett, Managing Director at Mondel├ęz Ireland, said; “We have worked with Aware since 2016 and we are very proud of our association with them and the work that they do. We are delighted to be able to support this initiative, particularly this year as Cadbury goes back to its roots, focusing on generosity and real moments. We are hoping to be able to give back to those who need it most through our partnership with Aware and bring a smile to the faces of those attending as they enjoy a wonderful night of music, all for a great cause.”
